I just want to spread the work of (and my thankfulness to) user geoffrey on LinuxMusicians.com on Linux support for the last Scarlett audio interface models. Also for all the extra support he provides to whoever ventures in his bleeding edge versions (and to anyone).
The result is full Linux support for all firmware features and a native GUI app that does everything -- firmware updates included. No more visits to my emergency-Windows partition!

I used to keep up with all the major accessible music technology for blind musicians, but now it feels harder to stay updated. The #MusicTech industry still has a long way to go, but there's been a great progress—so much more is accessible now compared to just 10 years ago! #Reaper, #Logic, #ProTools, #Samplitude, #Sibelius, #Musescore, #KompleteKontrol, #Ableton Live, #Juce, #Izotope, #Arturia, #Softtube, #Audient, #Focusrite, #Zoom, #SurgeSynth, #UVI, Sao Mai Braille... What else am I missing?

It turns out that if you disable the in-game overlay in #Ubisoft connect, the problem goes away and is fixed. Why couldn't Ubisoft support just tell me that instead of just fucking me around? Even the latest update of this game still has this bug! a show stopping thing that has been allowed to persist for a year. Once I got it working too, it was working with my #Focusrite 2i2 guitar interface with ASIO, something that was never working very well before. 2/end

Hallo zusammen, gibt es hier Personen, die praktische Erfahrung mit #Focusrite #Scarlett Interfaces unter #Linux haben und mir sagen können, ob und evtl. wie ich mein 2nd Gen 18i20 unter Linux (Mint) zum Laufen kriegen kann?
Laut Focusrite Website sind Linux-PCs generell nicht kompatibel, aber andere Quellen sagen, dass man es zum laufen bekommen könnte…

What a wonderful (true) story: Geoffrey Bennett started a #fundraiser to develop a "Linux Driver for Focusrite Scarlett Gen 4" #audiointerface, and not only was it successful, but #focusrite themselves #pledged and beyond that offered extended support with devices and development assistance.
