In what sane world can a civilian ship in international waters carrying humanitarian supplies to a besieged population be attacked with ZERO outcry/protest/action from western world or western press.
The article in the #NYTimes mentioned the incident with the headline "Explosions Cripple Ship Carrying Aid to Gaza in the Mediterranean Sea". Like this was just a maritime accident!!
We can expect no further action from the western governments (European and US allies) or the western press as the governments of the west continue with their racist genocide and ethnic cleansing of Palestine.
The only action being taken to try to stop the genocide is from one of the poorest countries in the world, which has endured attack by the west for more than a decade and is currently under withering attack by #US war machine.
I guess all those history classes in school about America defending freedom and democracy around the world, a force for good and all that is ringing hollow right now for all those people like me who bought into that propaganda as a youth. You have to practice extreme compartmentalization skills to manage the cognitive dissonance created between the myth vs reality of US actions in the world. I guess safer to just ignore it, which is where the western press comes in handy.

These intelligence agencies are not completely stupid. They know that they are not widely liked. A criticism from them is a compliment.
The #German far-right #AFD party has just been designated as a far-right extremist organisation by German domestic Intelligence.
Regardless of where a party is in the polls, if it is a threat to the democratic order, efforts must be made to contain it.
Tolerance of intolerance is what has led the US down its current pathway. Europe must not follow.

Such companies are not organized in a mafia either, but in the prestigious "Investment Migration Council" (#IMC), which claims to be an “organization in special consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations since 2019”.
So this news item from today sounds quite amusing:
