Future of OSU Open Source Lab in Jeopardy

"Over the past several years, we have been operating at a deficit due to a decline in corporate donations" ... "recent changes in university funding makes our current funding model no longer sustainable."

"Unless we secure $250,000 in committed funds, the OSL will shut down later this year."

Behind the scenes of open source, the Oregon State University Open Source Lab has supported the digital infrastructure we rely on, including #Drupal. For decades, the OSL has empowered innovation and community through its hosting and mentorship, helping launch and sustain critical projects. Now, it needs our support.

Read how the Drupal community’s roots are deeply tied to the OSL and what’s at stake if it disappears. buff.ly/2el2LFd

I'm looking for a content model versioning solution for #python (in #Django seems easiest) and finding existing solutions either old, not maintained, or poorly documented. Does anyone I know have experience with a good solution? Per-model versioning is good, but additionally being able to version a group of content would be brilliant.

(Yes #Drupal people I know about node revisions, go away. But not really I do love you)

The Oregon State University's Open Source Lab needs your help 🤝 !

We at #Inkscape rely on them for hosting our website 🌐 , mailing lists 📨 , mail servers 📮 and DNS ℹ️ .

They are also a host for many other open source projects - e.g. #Drupal, #Gentoo Linux, #Debian, #Fedora, #phpBB, #OpenID, #Buildroot/#Busybox, #Cinc, …

Please consider donating 💌 to them so they can keep their services running for all of us!

Ok, so I'm (still) in the throes of upgrading my venerable #Drupal 7 blog to modern Drupal... I spent *ages* trying to get things working with Drupal 10 (note, I ran a Drupal dev shop for over a decade, so this *should* be easy-as. Heh)... It occurred to me, why go to D10 if D11 is now stable? Why not the new 'Drupal CMS' (based on D11) 🤔... So I've installed an instance with the aim of migrating my D7 to it... anybody else try this? Recommended? (I've already got a D10 theme...)

Hello from Hachyderm! It's a new server, so how about a new #introduction? I'm a #Drupal dev and #Linux freak with an interest in #FOSS and experimental literature. I blog sometimes and am trying to carve out my own little home on the indie web.

I am the maintainer of the new Node Swapper module for Drupal (drupal.org/project/node_swappe) and I am currently returning to #NixOS and #KDE after a several year hiatus from both.

Hello! I'm looking forward to meeting all of the new folks on this server.

#introduction hello from my new account- I've moved off of #fosstodon

I do #openSource websites (preferring #ProcessWire cms these days but sometimes #drupal and #wordpress and #backdrop), databases (especially #CiviCRM) for organisations with good missions - a mix of charities, campaigns and journalism etc. - I'm particularly keen to work with orgs doing #ClimateEmergency #antiFascist #peace #LGBTQIA rights...

I post about #php #javascript #webdev #css and anti #ai nonsense.

New #Drupal module, Node Swapper, is designed to make it easier to swap an existing node with a new node and preserve all existing aliases and redirects in the process.

The main use is for large-scale page redesigns where you want to keep the old node in some capacity, but you don't want to lose any traffic during the transition, or risk modifying aliases and redirects by hand.

It's still in development, so I welcome any feedback you may have!
