I made this memory jar for my best friend. I wrote a bunch of happy memories that we share together and a few things I know that would make them smile and folded them up on colorful pieces of paper and put them in a jar. I gave it to them this morning and said that at least once a week, I would like them to write down a happy thing from that week, fold it up, and put it in the jar. And whenever they feel down, they can look at the jar and see they have a lot of Happy memories. And if they feel really down, they can even pull some out and read them.
This is something I did for myself years ago when I was in a bad mental state. I forced myself to find at least one good thing a week, write it down, and put it in the jar. It really helped me change my mental state and get through a lot of bad stuff. So, if you're having a hard time right now, if you're going through a lot of stuff and struggling, get yourself a jar, some paper, and at least once a week find one good thing from that week to write down, fold up, and put in the jar. At least once a week! You can do it more times if you can! I encourage it! This is something that really helped me with my mental health and I hope that it helps my best friend, too.
