@mdione @vaurora After I finished grad school in the US; I decided to go on vacation as far away as possible.

It being hard to get to Kerguelen, I went to Western Australia.

(Although I suppose I could have gone to Madagascar instead.)

@mdione @vaurora My French is limited. But the main problem was that there was and is exactly one boat that goes to Kerguelen.

@michael_w_busch I meant about Madagascar, French is one of the two official languages (and the other one is not English :)
