#Trailrunning today in #Vienna #Austria. It feels like spring already!

Was für eine interessante Winterlandschaft heute im #WienerWald. Kein Schnee, aber die Bäume voller Rauhreif. Unten rötlich-brauner Waldboden, oben eisig-weiße Baumkronen, die an ihrer Spitze mit dem weißen Himmel verschwimmen.

New Year's run: 30 km #Trailrunning with 800 m ascent and 900 m descent. Perfect weather with -3 to +2°C, no wind, bright blue sky, firm ground. The first 2.5 km MTB downhill trail was densely covered with hoarfrost from the trees, like large grated coconut. The highlight, a 2.5 km long gorge, has been destroyed in many places since the autumn storm: landslides, torn away wooden bridges and many fallen trees. A real adventure!

Christmas run: We ran 27 km with 900 meters of ascent and descent. It's a fabulous route that I've developed over the years, starting with an almost alpine climb on the outskirts of Austria's capital. Lots of single trails and rough mountain bike trails. And a steep descent where you suddenly emerge from the wilderness and unexpectedly find yourself at a train station.
