(AP) — "Hunter Schafer says 'it’s important to just keep track of where things are in our country,' a day after the 'Euphoria' star posted a video in which she revealed her new passport had been issued with a male gender marker.</p><p>"Speaking to The Associated Press on the red carpet at the Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday, the 26-year-old actor, who is trans, said she felt 'it was a good, necessary point' to share. Schafer, also a presenter at the award show, was nominated for best lead performance for 'Cuckoo.'</p><p>"President Donald <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Trump" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Trump</span></a> signed an executive order on his first day in office instituting a new and narrow federal government definition of the sexes. As part of the order, the federal government defines sex as only male or female and says that must be reflected on official documents, like passports. The State Department, responsible for passports, is no longer issuing passports with the <br>'X' marker that’s been available since 2021 and is not honoring requests to change gender markers between 'M' and <br>'F.'</p><p>"In an 8 ½-minute video posted to TikTok on Friday, Schafer, who transitioned as a young teen, said the passport that was meant to carry her well into her 30s was stolen while she was filming in Spain. After receiving an emergency passport, she later had to apply for a new, permanent one in Los Angeles. Having had female gender markers on her license and passport since she was a teenager, Schafer marked 'female' on her application — but received a passport that identified her as male, she said. In the video, she said she had not had her birth certificate amended.</p><p>"Schafer acknowledged the executive order in her TikTok video: 'Because our president, you know, is a lot of talk, I was like, ‘I’ll believe it when I see it.’ And, today, I saw it,' Schafer said, holding up her new passport page with the 'M' marker. She said she was making the video not to 'fearmonger or like create drama or receive consolation,' but to note the reality of the situation.</p><p>"'I wasn’t even really looking for support, but I have an amazing community around me and it’s one of the greatest blessings of my life and so I felt very supported throughout, before and then now,' she told the AP on Saturday.</p><p>"The State Department said in response to a request for comment that it was implementing Trump’s executive order but declined to comment on specific cases, citing privacy laws and restrictions.</p><p>"'It doesn’t really change anything about me or my <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/transness" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>transness</span></a>. Were there ancient deities who were trans, non-binary, or gender non-conforming? Turns out there were. Ancient Greece had a prominent culture of gender fluidity, as did many other ancient societies.</p><p>"<a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Aphroditus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Aphroditus</span></a> was sometimes referred to as the male form of Aphrodite. Statues of him showed him with a female figure, breasts, narrow waist, long hair, women’s clothing, but also with a penis and testes. He is said to have originated on the island of Cyprus, and arrived in Athens in the 4th century BCE. He was sometimes celebrated there in <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/transvestite" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>transvestite</span></a> rites. It is said the festivals allowed 'women to act the part of men, and men to put on woman’s clothing and play the part of women' (from Wikipedia). He was definitely gender <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/NonConforming" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NonConforming</span></a>.</p><p>"Hermaphroditus was the son of Hermes, messenger of the gods, and Aphrodite, Goddess of love. His name is a combination of both of his parents. From Wikipedia: 'According to Ovid, he was born a remarkably handsome boy with whom the water nymph Salmacis fell in love with and prayed to be united forever. The gods granted the request, so that he and the nymph became united in such a manner that the two could not be called a man or a woman, but were both' (Metamorphoses IV, pp. 274-388 , 8 AD). Hermaphroditus is the god of hermaphrodites and effeminates. I believe in today’s society, Hermaphroditus would be a modern day pre-operative transwoman.</p><p>"<a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Loki" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Loki</span></a>, a Norse god, also called the trickster god, would many times disguise himself as a woman. Some myths said that Loki was bisexual. Loki was an accomplished shape-shifter and according to legend has also appeared as a salmon, a mare, a fly, and of course a woman.</p><p>"Ovid’s Metamorphoses (Met. 9, pp. 666-797) mentions <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Iphis" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Iphis</span></a> and <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Ianthe" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ianthe</span></a>. Iphis was born a girl, but her mother passed her off as a boy so that she wouldn’t be killed. The name was fitting for a boy and a girl, so that wasn’t too much of a problem. According to the myth, Iphis as a 15 year old boy, fell in love with another girl, Ianthe. Iphis’s mother appealed to the Goddess Isis for help. Isis transformed Iphis into a male before Iphis and Ianthe got married. I believe this may have been the first sex change. This would have made sense as she was frequently seen in the fields. In many indigenous cultures, including in the Americas, it was accepted that more than two genders were socially and spiritually accepted. These gender non-conforming individuals were seen as people who were very spiritual, and many became leaders and healers in their societies. In Native American culture, many who were called <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/TwoSpirit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TwoSpirit</span></a> became shamans.</p><p>"<a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Ometeotl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Ometeotl</span></a> was an Aztec God of duality. He was considered both male and female, using the names Ometecuhtli and Omecihuatl. He had an equivalent god in Mayan mythology, <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/Itzamna" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Itzamna</span></a>, who identified with <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/HunabKu" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HunabKu</span></a>, an invisible god. Both gods could be considered self-created gods according to myth. Ometeotl was to the Aztecs the idea that their Universe consisted of dark and light, night and day, order and war, and things like that.</p><p>"I’m of the opinion that if more people would understand that there are more than binary people in this world, it would be a better and safer place for all. I think the ancients got it right in their beliefs. People were just human beings, and not judged only on their biological sex. A good book to consider reading is this excellent book by Gerald N. Callahan, PhD., Between XX and XY: Intersexuality and the Myth of Two Sexes. From the book: 'On October 10, 1970, the day she was born, she was named Dorothy Maree Alaniz–a baby girl. Curiously, though, no one filled out a birth certificate that day. When the certificate was finally filed on November 5, the name on it was Rudolph Andrew Alaniz. Within less than one month after her birth, this girl became a boy.' With the pardoning of the January 6th rioters, Trump has signaled that far-Right loyalists will receive a pass from the State to engage in violence against enemies of the regime. This is a reality that only amplifies what we saw during the first Trump administration, when Chad Wolf’s DHS pushed for <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/antifascists" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>antifascists</span></a> to be targeted by law enforcement and for the state to downplay the threat from the far-Right. This move lead to federal forces descending on Portland, OR during the <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/GeorgeFloydUprising" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GeorgeFloydUprising</span></a>, and the outright assassination of <a href="https://kolektiva.social/tags/MichealReinoehl" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MichealReinoehl</span></a>. The Institute of Sexology was the first library to be burned. </p><p>Transpeople are about 1% of the entire population. That one percent has been targeted with 614 bills in 2024 alone. Przez pewien czas, nie będąc do końca świadomym różnic między chłopcami a dziewczynkami, byłem przekonany, że siusiak mi wyrośnie. Sam z siebie. Bo przecież każdy chłopczyk ma siusiaka, a ja jestem chłopczykiem, to oczywiste.</p><p>Rozumiesz: na razie mam inne imię i wszyscy mówią do mnie, jak do dziewczynki, ale to po prostu taki etap, a potem, już za chwilę wszystko się zmieni i wszystko będzie normalnie. Rodzice dadzą mi nowe imię (może nawet zapytają mnie, jak chciałbym mieć na imię?), zaczną mnie normalnie ubierać i wszystko będzie dobrze. Z czasem jednak zaczęło mnie niepokoić, że nic się nie dzieje i wciąż nie mam siusiaka, więc zacząłem drążyć temat w rozmowach z mamą.</p><p>Mama odpowiedziała informacją kompletnie niedorzeczną, mówiąc, że nic mi nie wyrośnie, bo jestem dziewczynką i tak już pozostanie. I tak w wieku kilku lat, moje życie w zasadzie skończyło się na bardzo długo. Dopytałem jeszcze, czy może można to jakoś zmienić, mama odparła, że nie. Wiesz, to było bardzo dawno temu i nie mówiło się o tym w mediach. Zresztą co to były za media... Uznałem, że ktoś tu zwariował, a mama chyba jest niedoinformowana i coś jej się myli, albo o czymś nie wie, bo przecież ponad wszelką wątpliwość jestem chłopczykiem. Kompletnie nie bawią mnie lalki, za to bardzo kręcą auta i pistolety, chcę zostać marynarzem, a dziewczynki są głupie i nudne.</p><p>Szczytem jakiegoś schizoidalnego wariactwa były próby ubrania mnie w sukienkę. Czułem się po prostu torturowany, myślę, że podobnie czują się ofiary znęcania. Czułem się krzywdzony, nierozumiany, czułem, że mama mnie nie kocha, przebiera mnie, jak pajaca, chce mnie ośmieszyć, upokorzyć, zrobić ze mnie idiotę. Nienawidziłem jej wtedy i nie wiedziałem, za co mi to robi. Byłem pewien, że i ona mnie nienawidzi.</p><p>Kiedy rodziców nie było w pobliżu, przedstawiałem się obcym ludziom jako Jacek albo Adaś, a mój wygląd nie pozostawiał im żadnych wątpliwości, ponieważ już w zapuszczanie włosów i warkoczyki nie dałem się wrobić. To mi się, na szczęście udało.<br>Mając jakieś 6 lat, zacząłem myśleć o tym, żeby się jakoś zabić, bo uznałem, że moje życie to pomyłka i że jak mam żyć w takiej postaci, w jakiej jestem, w takim wariactwie, to w ogóle nie ma sensu żyć. Tak, jako sześcioletnie dziecko, pamiętam to doskonale, patrzyłem przez płot przedszkola na przejeżdżające samochody i marzyłem o tym, że kiedyś ucieknę i wpadnę pod samochód.</p><p>Taki się urodziłem. Nikt nie podał mi żadnej tabletki, ale gdybym wtedy usłyszał o istnieniu ludzi, którzy takie tabletki rozdają, poszedłbym ich szukać do samego piekła i marzyłbym o spotkaniu z takimi ludźmi.</p><p>Musicie to zrozumieć: niezależnie od Waszej wiary, światopoglądu, człowiek RODZI SIĘ transseksualny. Naprawdę. Nauka potwierdziła, że przypadłość ta powstaje we wczesnej fazie życia płodowego. Nie wiadomo dlaczego. Nie da się tego odkręcić, ani wyleczyć.</p><p>Transseksualny człowiek ma mózg i pewne elementy ośrodkowego układ nerwowego typowe dla płci przeciwnej do cech wewnętrznych. Mam absolutnie męski mózg i większość mojego ośrodkowego układu nerwowego jest męska.</p><p>W wieku lat 19-20 trafiłem do lekarza. Do właściwego lekarza. Wykonano mi pierdylion testów, żeby wykluczyć wszelkie zaburzenia psychiczne. Jeśli znacie kogoś transseksualnego, to możecie być pewni, że to psychicznie najzdrowszy człowiek na świecie, prześwietlony i przetestowany na wszystkie możliwe sposoby. Mam specyficzny zapis EEG. Zrobiono mi mnóstwo badań: mózgu, hormonów, przysadki, nadnerczy, tarczycy. Wykonano wreszcie badanie chromatyny płciowej. To bardzo ważne, kluczowe badanie, które — w zestawieniu z pozostałymi badaniami — potwierdziło jasno, czarno na białym, że jestem mężczyzną: nie posiadam ciałka Barra. Posiadają je wyłącznie kobiety, no, czasem mężczyźni, kiedy nie są zdrowymi mężczyznami i co wpływa na występowanie u nich pewnych cech żeńskich. Ale mózg mają nadal męski, więc są mężczyznami.</p><p>Mam męski mózg i nie mam ciałka Barra.</p><p>Od urodzenia. Od urodzenia jestem mężczyzną i moja męskość jest nieuleczalna. Nie da się przeszczepić mózgu, ani sztucznie wytworzyć ciałka Barra. Przeszedłem zabiegi chirurgiczne, mającej na celu dostosowanie mojego ciała do mojego mózgu, ośrodkowego układu nerwowego i do mojej chromatyny płciowej. Nie, nie zmieniłem płci. Bo nie zmieniłem mózgu, ani chromatyny. Ja nawet jej nie "skorygowałem". Ja dostosowałem ciało do swojej płci rzeczywistej.</p><p>Wiem, że są jeszcze w tym kraju, w XXI wieku ludzie, którzy jedyny dymorfizm płciowy, jaki znają, to posiadanie fiuta albo cycków. To dziwne, bo tak naprawdę chromosomy, czy budowa mózgu, to wiedza na poziomie szkoły średniej, w sumie żadna wielka filozofia.</p><p>Robienie z dziecka transseksualnego na siłę dziewczynki albo chłopca, bo nie ma/bo ma siusiaka, jest fundowaniem dziecku niewyobrażalnego koszmaru. Dlatego za moich czasów (1999) współczynnik samobójstw w tej grupie wynosił niemal 100% (a nadal jest przygnębiająco wysoki). To "niemal" to wręcz granica błędu statystycznego.</p><p>Dziś, już od wielu lat jestem mężczyzną. Nikt, kto mnie spotyka, nie ma pojęcia o mojej przeszłości. Jeśli opowiada bzdury o tym, że "jeśli ktoś CZUJE SIĘ psem, to się go nie zmienia w psa, tylko leczy psychiatrycznie", to czasem uśmiecham się pod wąsem, a czasem, jak mi się chce, to opowiadam o sobie i obserwuję, jak mu wariują synapsy. I dopiero po chwili taki ktoś ZAWSZE doznaje olśnienia i stwierdza rozkosznie, że "o kurwa, jesteś normalny!" No jestem. I wtedy okazuje się, że naprawdę łatwo zmienić poglądy w sekundę. Serio. Człowiek transseksualny nikim się nie CZUJE, to nie jest kwestia czucia. To jest kwestia jego wewnętrznej budowy i chromatyny płciowej. Ani CZUCIE SIĘ, ani WIDZIMISIĘ nie ma tu nic do rzeczy. Nikt normalny nie podda się takim zabiegom (niekiedy bardzo bolesnym) dla samego "widzimisię". Gwarantuje, że wymiękłby po kilku pierwszych zastrzykach, najdalej po pierwszym zabiegu.</p><p>Nie torturujcie dzieci. Jeśli popełnią samobójstwo — ich krew będzie na Waszych rękach.</p><p>Ja miałem jednak pewne szczęście, bo miałem na tyle mądrych rodziców, że kiedy postawiłem sprawę jasno — ogarnęli temat i okazali mi mnóstwo wsparcia. Mam mądrą i kochającą rodzinę i mądrych przyjaciół. I dopiero kiedy wszystko się dokonało i stałem się sobą — uwierzyłem w to, że Bóg jednak istnieje.
