Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry released a badly formatted response to the tax two days ago but it wasn’t attributed to anybody and was only posted on the Ministry website where nobody but journalists and the most avid international relations enthusiast would see it.

Ha! This is interesting. What it's basically saying is that Malay lost the word for earthquake (which is still extant in other Austronesian language cousins eg Indonesian languages for example, like Javanese) that we had to re-import it from Sanskrit because we have so few of it

Also, my TT feed now shows me content from China expats here, and their kipas* content can be culturally quite different from Western expat/tourist content, naturally. One recurring one for example was the great contribution the diaspora did in sending funds in the war against Japan, but the random ones can be really... random. Last night saw one that went on about how much younger Malaysian Chinese can look compared to them (it's the stress??) but that still cannot beat this one lady who was basically extolling the virtues of the bum gun/bidet attachment, saying that this was why we Malaysians don't get hemorrhoids. I have said tht we don't take compliments well, but surely you'll agree... WTF LMAO.
