Lorenzo’s Music Podcast Fedi Specials No.3: Ben Pate of Bandwagon
Tom from Lorenzo’s Music (@lorenzosmusic) meets Ben Pate (@benpate), the creator of Bandwagon.fm, an open-source platform designed specifically for musicians that integrates with the Fediverse, allowing artists to share their music in a decentralized manner.
Ben talks about the concept behind Bandwagon, explaining how it originated from a need for a more open alternative to music platforms. One with the ability to connect musicians with audiences through a search function that allows users to follow specific music tags and receive updates in their Mastodon feeds to serve as a music hub for discovering new music.
They also talk about the integration of Bandwagon with the online radio station Indie Beat, which provides an additional avenue for artists to showcase their work.

I think I could modify the @tibrnowplayingbot to include the artist fedi @ handle in now playing posts and make this an opt-in feature.
Would that be of interest to anyone?
That way you could get notified each time your tracks play... and if anyone replies to a post you'll see it... And of course they could locate and contact you directly here.
If it became too much, you could mute the account or opt-out.

- it's been less than 10 days since you uploaded (a bunch of this is still done manually)
- your track is longer than 6 minutes (these are getting tagged as "long form" and will eventually get their own channel)
