The great weather is continuing here. And since the temperatures are still ok, it's really fun. But at the risk of being a spoilsport: Nature is starting to need some rain here.

Even Paddy the Irish mutt got a bit tied of running in soft sand. Here we are hoping that over there yonder, we would find the gravel road we should have been on. I was paying too much attention to #RAAAD and The Doors than the map.

Tomorrow got to be an early start, as we are forecasted 21c, which is just too hot for mutt and human to run in.

Beautiful race & beautiful scenery - but oh boy, running a half-marathon when it’s 2 degrees is a tough one - the blue sky on the photo is a bit misleading…!

Today's trailrun up to Prabé above Sion. The super steep ascent is rewarded with this view.

My first marathon ever completed.

I met some nice people at the starting area and chatted with them the entire marathon.

We walked at all the water points and I had to stop twice to pee.

I stopped halfway and greeted my family.

The crowd along the entire route was fantastic. A great experience and I had no problems at all.

My finish time? I have no idea.

Tomorrow will be my first race of this year’s season. I am nervous, I must say, but I am also getting very excited to do my longest trail race ever!

Somehow, my fall last week wasn't without consequences. Apparently, I overstretched the ligaments in my left ankle a bit. It feels very stiff during the 1st km. So I'm going to slow down a bit now. @WTL I was in zone 1 for almost the entire 10k. I'll mark that red in the calendar.

On March 31, I ran the Grand Canyon R2R2R with a coworker.

We started at the South Kaibab trailhead at ~6:30 AM, made our way north to the Colorado River, crossed the bridge to Phantom Ranch, headed north through Cottonwood towards Manzanita, then made the eastward turn towards North Kaibab. Once we reached the north rim, we retraced our route back to the south rim, finishing ~9:00 PM.

44 miles, 12,000 feet elevation gain, 14.5 hours.

Today I ran in the park near #Kockelscheuer On the flat asphalt track around the pond, many runners do their interval training during their lunch break. I love intervals... especially when I can watch others doing it.

The area around #Leudelange where I run is characterized by forests, bushes, and cultivated landscapes. Only extensive agriculture. #Luxembourg is doing a lot of things right here. Especially now in spring, you see birds of prey on almost every run. Today, a #redKite flew close over me. Majestic! Then there was a #buzzard, which was chased away by a #crow. Pretty brave, considering it was a bit smaller.
