My 6.8-mile run had all the elements today. Headwinds at every turn. Partly cloudy, then cloudy, then rain. A quick rainbow. Then sun. And an inconsistent Garmin to keep things extra interesting.

And do I ever love a big emotive sky along the Bay.

Another slower running month, but I could still give the proverbial butcher’s dog a run for its money!

March has been about taking it easy on my hamstring. I’ve held back from all speedwork, which has meant a drop in overall pace — and in turn, my VO₂ max has slipped from a high of 50 in December to 44.8. That’s to be expected, though.

I bloody love spring! Winter felt very long this year.

I got out for a nice 40 minute #run this morning and it was just glorious being out in the sunshine.

I’ve started doing the #peloton audio workouts for motivation and the 20 minute Becs Gentry HIIT run I did as the first part of my run felt really good. I need to keep up doing intervals again…it’s been a while.

Are your sprints being tagged as something else? Well mine too, so I am trying to understand why.

I read that anaerobic effect occurs on intervals above your VO2max. To understand when I do that, I look at my lactate threshold and if i go over in intervals, that should classify the workout as a sprint.
Or should it?

My data does not back up my theory unfortunately. (See image)

Has anyone figured it out?
