During my childhood in 1969, we were inspired to build little cardboard #rockets to fly to the moon. Our protoype's flight lasted only the length of one jump. We would never have thought of spending all our pocket money on it, celebrating these seconds as a success, or polluting the environment under the applause of Bavarian politicians.

After a false start, we had to clean up every last shred and realised that we had screwed up. Afterwards, we preferred to watch ants on Earth.

Couple of years ago I remember someone asking why does Europe continue with the Ariane program, why not save the money and buy launches from spaceX or Soyuz.

Well. Looking at the political landscape. I think the question should now be, why is Europe so behind with low cost space launch capability?

The proof of concept shows that at the current achievable flow rates of #CO2 and water, it is possible to meet #NASA’s 16-month deadline for refueling #rockets on #Mars 🔴. It can be scaled further to meet tighter rocket refueling ⛽ deadlines. The use of Martian nighttime temperatures for heat 🌡️ exchange can potentially reduce the dependence on power-hungry cryogenic methods for gas liquefaction. pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/

The current effort presents a thorough feasibility analysis of a scalable, Matlab-based, integrated ISRU framework from the standpoint of the second ...

The German government supports a mobile satellite launch plan in the North Sea.

The German Ministry of Transport has approved €870,000 for a planned offshore spaceport.

This will enable the German Offshore Spaceport Alliance (GOSA) to develop a “holistic” solution for the spaceport for primarily commercial orbital and suborbital launches by the end of September.
