Thanks to https://botsin.space/@planetpostgresql/113510452678670732 I got importing Europe on my puny rig from some 43h to 14h! I didn't quite used the same numbers because I only have 32GiB and it's also my desktop, and I'm also pretty sure I can reduce some numbers given that I don't import the whole planet.
After I upgraded the #postgresql backend to the latest and greatest version of #osm2pgsql and replaced #hstore by #json (jsonb) at the @geofabrik #Openstreetmap hack-weekend the https://opencampingmap.org Website is now up and running again.

Gar nicht mal so unaufwendig bezüglich compute-power ein wenig Statistik der Entwicklung bestimmter Daten[1] in der #openstreetmap Datenbank zu machen. Von der Technik her aber eigentlich relativ einfach Dank #osmium und #osm2pgsql.
[1] Um welche Daten es bei mir geht könnt ihr euch bestimmt denken.
Huge shout out to the osm2pgsql devs! Connection volume to Postgres had gotten a bit awkward with the Flex styles when they're used the way PgOSM Flex does. Replication with the default layerset previously used 207 connections! 
The same step only uses 17 now!! (:latest on Docker Hub updated)
