March: Shameless self-promotion day</p><p>Besides all my Open Source work (and the very occasional very tiny fanfiction attempt) I publish Free Sheet Music in digital editions, beautifully renderer as PDF, but also available as MusicXML and MIDI for conversion to Braille music notation as needed.</p><p>Voices from the choir et al.:</p><ul><li>"finally, legible tenor notes!" (everyone with bass clef allergy)</li><li>"it’s easier on the eyes due to the larger size" (older ladies in choir)</li><li>easy to transpose (few clicks)</li><li>simple enough to make extra versions for the conductor and accompanist (closed score (two systems only, like for piano) with text below, so the pianist can follow the regie instructions)</li></ul><p><a href="https://mbsd.evolvis.org/music/free" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://mbsd.evolvis.org/music/free</a> contains my Free Sheet Music contributions mostly from Public Domain scans (some more recent ones were made under permission from the composer/arranger); I also produced <a href="https://mbsd.evolvis.org/music/misc/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://mbsd.evolvis.org/music/misc/</a> and dozens of pieces I cannot show because they are licenced works.</p><p>I do this for myself and share with the world, but I could imagine digitally engraving some sheet music for YOU for a small donation or something. Somē<p>Here's a cursed funfact about <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MIDI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MIDI</span></a>. You can send a Note On event with 0 velocity and it works just like a Note Off event. In fact, <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MuseScore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MuseScore</span></a> does this!! The question for me though is why?</p>

Oliv(e|i?er|ia) Oliveieria<p>PAHAHAHA<br><a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MuseScore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MuseScore</span></a> decided it was going to not let me open it in Wayland after the first time again, so running it in X-Wayland.<br>now the audio's desynchronised from real-time, it's synced to cpu-time.</p><p>So depending on what buffering and rate I set it to it goes slow &amp; low or fast &amp; high, sounds ridiculous ^.^</p><p>Unfortunately unusable.<br>Guess I will just have to down-grade.</p>
Oliv(e|i?er|ia) Oliveieria<p>Downgraded <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MuseScore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MuseScore</span></a> back to 4.3… the version without Wayland support.<br>Graphically, having Wayland is very nice.<br>but for some reason it made audio befunked, gotta go into settings and crank up the buffer &amp; rates or it's stuttery hell.<br>not a big deal.</p><p>The big deal is MuseScore is now refusing to open with an error message described by a dev as a "red herring".</p><p>It opened once on the latest update, worked fine!<br>Every time after that it flashes for a second and crashes!<br>and it appears to affect all 4.4.* versions, I just can't launch them now!</p>

Oliv(e|i?er|ia) Oliveieria<p>Updated <a href="https://tech.lgbt/tags/MuseScore" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MuseScore</span></a> forgetting about the bug that was introduced where audio is really slow and stuttery… it's still not fixed.</p><p>However, turns out bumping the buffer size up from 1024 to 4096 fixes it, still not perfect but it's fine.</p><p>Upping the sample rate doesn't make a massive difference to my ears, although it makes a visual difference, smoother play head… weird.</p>
