I was really impressed with the High 5 trail. Trail layout is optimised for the available terrain.

Although there are some 600m elevation changes, the trail is still easily within the reach of anyone with decent mountain experience. Elevation changes lead to different flora and geology.

Slackpacking options make it accessible to many people with less hiking experience and fitness levels. It also simplifies it for foreign tourists who do not have to bring a lot of hiking gear.

We saw a lot of free roaming zebra, blue wildebeest & blesbok. As usual there baboons around and some vervet monkeys.

Anyways, here is I having breakfast on a rocky outcrop at our first overnight stop.

The Uitkomst (meaning 'outcome') waterfall.

Not easily reachable by car. The best is to hike an appropriate section of the High5 trail and sleep at the Candlewood hut.

This is also known as the Bridal Leap waterfall after a bride that fell down it with wedding dress and all somewhere in the early 1900s.

We encountered this fall on our 3rd day of hiking. We left our packs at the hut and then scrambled to the bottom of the falls.
