Just used some of this today. I have to say I was dubious about the results having been disappointed by other cleaning products like shower cleaners.

** But this stuff really works **

Just like it says it is magic

#Cheese lovers beware: the days of Camembert could be numbered. A lack of microbial diversity risks driving the famed French cheese to the brink of extinction. Researchers say a single #mould strain known as Penicillium camemberti, which is essential for the production of camembert, is now unable to reproduce. This has led to a collapse in its genetic make-up, threatening its survival and that of the iconic cheese along with it.

UPDATE: Okay, I'm officially chickening out on attempting to clean my #Brita #filterbottle well enough to ensure there is no more mould contamination.

As this design has otherwise met my needs and I already have several unused filters and new, uncontaminated silicone mouthpieces en route, I am going to suck it up and buy a new bottle, but add it into the rigorously-clean-each-compent cycle I do with my #CPAP.

Still, #ick. 🤢

Jfc. TIL that even though I diligently clean my #Brita #filterbottle's silicone straw/bite valve, turns out the entire silicone piece is removeable (non-obvious, no cleaning instructions whatsoever given beyond 'change filter each month').

Anyhow, guess what? MINE IS COMPLETELY SATURATED WITH PINK AND BLACK MOULD wherever the silicone was covered by casing.

I only realised there could be a problem becuase the head of the straw suddenly had pink mould on the rim.

😡😡😡

Heat, cold, pollution, noise and insects: too many apartment blocks aren’t up to the challenge

"Research shows how apartment residents struggle with the impacts of unhealthy homes. It’s a result of decades of urban planning based on fossil fuel use and high-rise building standards poorly adapted to the Australian environment."

"Our study involved residents of apartments in Liverpool CBD in New South Wales. They are exposed to particulate pollution from heavy truck movements tied to the Moorebank freight terminal, smoke from increasingly severe bushfires and a rising number of days of extreme heat each year."

"Buildings that are bad for health and sleep. This sort of housing is bad for residents’ health and wellbeing. It will also add to energy poverty for decades to come. Residents’ experiences reflect low building standards in Australia. Wanted: better regulations and development models."

The ConversationHeat, cold, pollution, noise and insects: too many apartment blocks aren't up to the challengeApartment residents need more sustainable, climate-adapted designs. They shouldn’t have to depend on costly, high-emissions air conditioning to remain comfortable and healthy.

So this is kind of embarrassing to admit, but - we left cooked rice in the rice cooker, and it got moldy.
I wanted to buy a new inner lid, but it's out of stock on the Zojirushi website for this model.
I was able to disassemble the inner lid into three pieces: hard plastic, metal, and (I think) silicone.
How do I clean the silicone so that I'm not going to be incubating mold spores every time I make rice? Is it possible?

Two days ago I posted a photo of the best Slime Molds I'd ever found.

Well, today I went back to revisit them. They'd gone from #Pink to #Brown

They were now even harder to photograph, it needed a near half second exposure under the gloomy log, but it was windy and they wouldn't keep still and kept giving off clouds of microscopic brown spores.
