imagine having your #Contacts, #Followers, and #Lists, and any details, like email, phone number, address (yes, to talk and meet them #IRL ;-), all together in one Private space !!
(no being forced to share your address book like WhatsApp, Facebook, Twitter, or Google).

Whereas with tags, categories, or lists, to help sorting out the Contacts. It would also solve the problem when some networks do not have Private List at all. I'm watching you LinkedIn ;-)

Any idea or suggestion #Mastodon ?

I refactored the [[Bookcase]] in my wiki … it might be a good topic for a video tutorial someday.

Instead of loading in different stored lists as a way of filtering the content, I now have one list that is filtered dynamically that both list (text) views and cover (image) views adhere to, making for neat on-the-fly re-arranging of the same list, and much more optimized.

I've read 13 from this list, and TBH, feeling at peace about it. Once I left graduate school and the life as an English major, I pretty much stopped caring about reading pretentious "literary" books. I know, makes me a bad librarian but I read irresponsibly and encourage others to do so.

YMMV.

What are Mastodon Lists and Why You Should Consider Using Them.

This thread is for new users and anyone who does not use Lists.

Lists are groups of a subset of the accounts you follow. A List Feed is a feed comprised of just the accounts included in the List.

For example, the image below shows a the user's Lists. Clicking on any one will bring up a feed comprised of only the followed accounts in that List.

@Em0nM4stodon

This is a very important tip that took me a long time to discover.
I'll pair it with another one - mute from home.

Sometimes I realize certain accounts I follow are flooding my home feed with boosts of certain kinds. I basically like the content, but it's too much. So I put these accounts in a special list that I look at when I feel like it, and mute them from my home feed.

The BBC 100 Women list for 2024 is an interesting read and I enjoyed learning about all these different people. They're from many walks of life and all add a little something to the mix.

I was especially thrilled to see two #heritage #conservation and #museum women on the list! ❤️ Especially as they're from #Yemen and #Kyrgyzstan. 🇾🇪🇰🇬
