Many years ago, when Bayani Fernando was the secretary of Public Works, he instituted a scheme to paint pedestrian infrastructure and signs in pink, to distinguish them from traffic signs for drivers.

That odd fact just came to mind, after watching the people's campaign for #kakampink .

Perhaps , soon, the Philippines will have ubiquitous pink asphalt for bicycles, like the iconic red ones from Netherlands.
