Ms. Que Banh<p>I've been unsuccessful at trying to find the other <a href="https://beige.party/tags/invasive" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>invasive</span></a> European wall <a href="https://beige.party/tags/lizard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lizard</span></a> nests to eradicate them from our property. This one lizard that I saw this morning is medium sized, about 3" long.</p><p><a href="https://beige.party/tags/EuropeanWallLizards" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EuropeanWallLizards</span></a> breed prolifically & are a threat to our native <a href="https://beige.party/tags/ecosystems" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ecosystems</span></a>, disturbing <a href="https://beige.party/tags/ecological" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ecological</span></a> balance by killing/eating several native flora & fauna - including native alligator lizards, native slugs & salamanders & news, baby turtle eggs, wild bird eggs, they destroy native bee & bumblenee nests by eating the bees/young & they also eat native plants & seeds. They have super voracious appetites & are commonly known to eat their own young too - instead of letting them grow up & compete for food & nesting areas.</p><p>They started to spread from <a href="https://beige.party/tags/CentralSaanich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CentralSaanich</span></a> & are now found in every municipality in <a href="https://beige.party/tags/YYJ" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>YYJ</span></a>. They've now spread up island, into the Gulf Islands, over to Vancouver mainland & BC interior areas too.</p><p>Please read an older news article linked, on how their invasion of local ecosystems started:</p><p>"Long before they ever roamed <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Saanich" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Saanich</span></a> backyards, common wall lizards existed only as an exhibit at <a href="https://beige.party/tags/RudysPetPark" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RudysPetPark</span></a>, a Central Saanich attraction opened in 1957 to capitalize on tourist traffic from nearby Butchart Gardens. </p><p>Started by German immigrant Rudy Bauersachs, the park was located along Durrance Road next to <a href="https://beige.party/tags/MountWork" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MountWork</span></a>, and boasted lions, monkeys, cougars, bears, bobcats, snakes, and, of course, a small population of common wall lizards from Northern Italy.
