"Doing the research, looking at the long history of disinformation it was really chilling to read reports from climate science teams that were reporting to the #FossilFuels industry that if we continue with these emissions & pumping CO2 into the atmosphere, it threatens global habitability!"

"As a former teacher teaching science curriculum, it mentioned #ClimateChange but the connection to the fossil fuel industry which provides the fuels, which are then burned, which then causes the carbon emissions, and that's what's climbing and causing climate change, that connection was missing."

"It needs to be in the public sphere & we need to get corporate #FossilFuel influence out. We need our governments to step up on this with full transparency and accountability to really address the trajectory we're on and the critical need to change course. It's URGENT."

China is planning to build a 1km-wide solar array in space, which is expected to collect solar energy more efficiently than terrestrial photovoltaic systems by over tenfold. The energy will be transformed into microwaves and transmitted to a ground-based collector station.

Will #Texas self-destruct its #CleanEnergy industry?

"The legislation would require 50% of new power plant capacity to be“sourced from dispatchable generation other than battery energy storage,” penalizing solar and wind power, which pair best with batteries.

An earlier iteration of SB 388 explicitly called for half of new power plants to “use natural gas,” and though the bill text no longer says that, the outcome would be the same: Gas would be the key beneficiary."

"The Alberta government's 2024 curriculum appears to have been developed with #BigOil involvement, directing teachers to discuss the benefits of #OilAndGas & their role in Alberta's economy. A recent report found an industry funded nonprofit lobbies to include this content in the curriculum."

The Device Throttling the World’s Electrified Future

"A bottleneck around the global supply of #transformers spells trouble for sustaining infrastructure we have, from airports to homes, and for expanding emerging technologies we want such as AI as we enter the “age of electricity”. But the constraint is most ominous for what it will do to slow the necessary transition to #CleanEnergy, the best solution to rising temperatures."

Over half of US states get more electricity from #cleanenergy than coal.

28 states total, including:

Oklahoma
Kansas
South Dakota

Coal is the worst #fossilfuel for environment (and public health). 20 years ago, over half of US electricity came from coal.

Once again: clean energy investment and policy helps red states, too.

"The trigger for this report was the discovery by Laurie Adamson, a physician with #CAPE, that her kid in elementary school was bringing home materials branded by #FortisBC. She was alarmed. What's a gas company doing in my children's backpack? What are they doing in the classroom?"

New green battery tech - from red state Alabama

Doesn't require cooling, a big downside of lithium ion batteries.
Also cheaper to produce.

From inventor of Super Soaker.
He's also Tuskegee Institute engineer involved with stealth bomber, bunch of other stuff.

Cannot make this stuff up!

For nearly 50 years #BigOil slow-walked the world to disaster by lying about the danger of Climate Change & creating denial/doubt about the science & solutions. Our latest show digs in to a new report about how they're STILL doing it to our children in our schools

Demand is growing very fast. If you look at the whole chain of production and distribution #FossilFuels are incredibly wastefull or INefficient.
Electricity, on the other hand, is far far more efficient. [And far more cost-effective]
What we must do is to electrify our energy use.
Espeically heating [and cooling] and transport.

Getting to 100% clean energy isn’t going to happen, but not for the reason you might think. And getting most of the way there is going to be easier than it first appears…"
