Here we've arrived at the first decades after WWII, a time of recovery and fresh beginnings. <br>

Petri Markkanen<p>Putsataan ja tsekataan vaarini kamera noin vuodelta 1947. Sain tämän häneltä teini-ikäisenä saatesanoilla, että pitäisin tämän kunnossa enkä koskaan myisi tai antaisi sitä pois. Vaarini kanssa ollaan juteltu paljon tästä kamerasta, ja se on ollut hänelle hyvin tärkeä. Hän sai sen palkaksi tehtyään nuorena poikana suuritöisen puusavotan. Isä oli luvannut kameran siitä innostuneelle pojalle, jos tekisi suuren työn – kaiketi sillä oletuksella, ettei poika siihen pystyisi annetussa ajassa.<br>Yötä myöten oli kirves heilunut ja saha laulanut, homma oli aamulla kaikkien paitsi vaarini yllätykseksi valmis. Tällainen tänä päivänä hyvin vaatimattoman oloinen kamera oli sodasta toipuvan maan suurelle satakuntalaisperheelle hyvin arvokas. Minulle tämä kamera on symbolina monesta asiasta. Toisen saavutuksen arvostamisesta, lupauksen pitämisestä ja tietenkin vaaristani.
