Meaghan Hackinen finished Atlas Mountain Race 2025 second. 1300km of unsupported bikepacking.

Why am I telling you this?

Because she is 40 years old woman who doesn't look like slick thin cyclist you could think about.

I feel empowered. I'm always on edge during race events due to how I look in comparison to other women and how am I perceived in general. But today I feel better with myself.

Before you say she has visible muscles and such - it doesn't matter. People's view (mostly men) on how the body should look like is extremely crooked and just wrong.

The race is this Sunday and judging from the elevation profile it's not going to be easy and I repeat to myself that I might not finish in time I would like to (around 4hrs). I need to focus on having fun which might not be easy, because I can get quite competitive.

Fortunately I'm not going alone :)

Ok #ebike people — I tested a bunch today and realized I want one a non-cargo bike that’s comparatively light and feels like riding a regular bike but with a boost.
