Mr. Orange and his #tariffs have had a huge effect on stock markets and so on my "voluntary #pension #savings". He is a living and walking chaos. I have invested for 20 years and the #loss has been -7 % in one week. They should grow, not go down. 🫣🙄🥺 I've been told that I'm still young and things will change. I don't invest by myself. My bank does that on behalf of me. In #finland we have this kind of service. #annoying #suomimastodon #politics #usa #lifemustgoon

Be annoying? I'm already an expert at that!

Declassified #CIAGuide to Sabotaging #Fascism Is Suddenly Viral

The World War II-era "#SimpleSabotage Field Manual" is full of steps that office workers can take to resist leadership.

"A declassified World War II-era government guide to 'simple sabotage' is currently one of the most popular open source books on the internet. The book, called 'Simple Sabotage Field Manual,' was declassified in 2008 by the CIA and 'describes ways to train normal people to be purposefully #annoying telephone operators, dysfunctional train conductors, befuddling middle managers, blundering factory workers, unruly movie theater patrons, and so on. In other words, teaching people to do their jobs badly.'

"Over the last week, the guide has surged to become the 5th-most-accessed book on #ProjectGutenberg, an open source repository of free and public domain ebooks. It is also the fifth most popular ebook on the site over the last 30 days, having been accessed nearly 60,000 times over the last month (just behind Romeo and Juliet).

"'#Sabotage varies from highly technical coup de main acts that require detailed planning and the use of specially-trained operatives, to innumerable simple acts which the ordinary individual #CitizenSaboteur can perform,' the guide begins. 'Simple sabotage does not require specially prepared tools or equipment; it is executed by an ordinary citizen who may or may not act individually and without the necessity for active connection with an organized group; and it is carried out in such a way as to involve a minimum danger of injury, detection, and reprisal.'"

What are some annoyances or issues in video games that you're glad are gone?

For me, I'm glad that online passes were abandoned. An online pass was a code you'd get with a game that usually locked away multiplayer or sometimes items & missions untill you entered the code & downloaded the DLC. These codes were given to you when you got a game new, but if you got a game used & the code in the box was claimed, you'd have to pay $10 to unlock the same content.

If I give you a big ol’ integer and say “I think this might be a combination of nCr something… but I don’t remember n or r— or maybe it’s just some integer.

How do you efficiently test to see if it’s a possible result from that formula?

I mean I could make a list up to the needed digits and search, but that isn’t very elegant. Other ideas?

1. 42503 (easy)
2. 7413705167549733 (harder)

@davep Is that the thing that's pissing me off atm too?

I dragged Settings to the left screen edge. Third-wide-by-full-height, fine. But now nothing I do will allow to change width. Dragging to right makes it 1/3*1/3 and then dragging elsewhere it jerks all over like a lunatic. That thing?

Fortunately almost nothing I use requires tiling - just social stuff like Signal belongs left-edge-full-height. Glad I didn't risk it with that.

I kind of hate shopee. I can’t download their app as my iPhone uses the US App Store.

Their website always has me do random security checks with captchas and I can’t even use functions like chat with the seller.

When I try to use a shopee account on a spare phone, it tells me I violated some policy and my account was blocked.

I’m guessing it’s because I’m using it on a phone with a different sim than the registered number.
