Peter DL6PL<p>Had a good time at Höltigbaum nature reserve (<a href="https://social.darc.de/tags/POTA" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>POTA</span></a> DE-0537 and <a href="https://social.darc.de/tags/WWFF" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>WWFF</span></a> DLFF-0603) today. Even though it was not warmer than 7°C, it felt actually really nice to be outside. Got a lot of SSB QSOs and some CW QSOs on 20 m and worked a little bit on 12 m. Never worked that band before, but I decided to try it, because there was too much contest activity on 10 m for my taste.<br>I also had the first QSO with my „new“ straight key, a J-45. Jouni OH3CUF<p>In Finnish WWFF groups (OHFF) there seems to be awful fuzz about ATNO refs.</p><p>Today OH3KRH was activating three ATNOs and roughly same time I was activating a non-ATNO. Both of us were using CW & SSB. </p><p>Still, we were on par on amount of QSOs. Threw some hot water to air and part of it turned into snowfall! Jouni OH3CUF<p>Lingonberry activation! So tasty! OHFF-1598 "Korvenvuoren luonnonsuojelualue" in Tampere, Finland.</p><p>Finland is mostly thick forest but sometimes I find some beautiful forests. This was one of them. There were some peculiar rock formations. I guess the other one was human made? </p><p>Rowanberries growing there. Didn't eat them! Not good.</p><p>90 QSOs in total. Not that many lingonberries eaten however. Autumn is here for sure. Josef 'Jeff' Sipek<p>Next stop was the hotel in Manchester, VT. I checked in, and realized that I can’t find my wallet. I searched everywhere multiple times - nothing. Nothing. Josef 'Jeff' Sipek<p>After Deer Leap, it was time to check out from the hotel, eat lunch (ramen), and drive to Ludlow W1/GM-037. The mountain road gets you to about 0.9km from the summit. Making the hike quite easy.</p><p>The bugs were far too annoying at the summit and the activation was going slowly, so I walked to the nearby ski lift and finished the <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/sota" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>sota</span></a> a to action there.</p><p>After a quick hike back to the car, I set up a hamstick on the car and finished the <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/pota" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pota</span></a> activation with a mix of FT4 and FT8. <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/hamradio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>hamradio</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.radio/tags/wwff" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>wwff</span></a></p>
Josef 'Jeff' Sipek<p>Day 3 started with a drive to hike Shrewsbury Peak. Unfortunately, I picked the wrong way (clockwise using VT route 100, instead of counterclockwise) which meant that I found myself at the start of a dirt road which was too much for my car. At that point, there wasn’t enough time to go all the way around and still have time for the hike.</p><p>So, I headed to the smaller Deep Leap Mountain W1/GM-223.
