THE WILD…
A solitary eucalyptus tree is sidelit by the low afternoon sun along the foreshore foot track in Dodges Ferry, Tasmania.

The foreshore track is an easy walk that passes through bushland and along the urban shoreline of the coastal town. An unmaintained trail, it is rough in places and other places it goes along the beaches. Eventually, it brings out at Park Beach, the local surfing spot.

IN TASMANIA…
I'm not on the kunanyi-Mt Wellington summit, but the city council's summitcam is, where this morning at 07.45 it is -1°C at 1271m with a light wind from the NNE at 1kph. A fine and calm morning.

The rising sun shines off the waters of the Derwent and if you look closely you can see the Tasman Bridge in the glow. A patch of fair weather cumulus drifts lazily past the summit through which you see the Eastern Shore and, to the right of the picture, South Arm peninsula, beyond which lie the waters of Storm Bay. The town of Kingston nestles on the Derwent shore at the right extremity of the frame.

In the other photo, the warming glow of the rising sun shines on the cold dolerite boulders of the summit.

There's a little snow about up there this morning. Don't you wich you were up here?

if you're the kind of Australian who's interested in having a physical street atlas for the current year - be warned, UBD Gregory's is shutting down.

Rumor is Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Perth will get one more edition in August[?], but for everywhere else (seemingly including Melbourne and Tasmania), what's on shelves is probably the final edition.

now please excuse me while i tag spam
