I posted a blog about imagining the futures we want (and need) in order to create them. Plus, the story behind my #solarpunk Threads stories, which are set in the future I desire.

#Hope (the radical kind) you'll take a look!

The blog includes some fun tidbits and a bonus at the end.

I mention @sarenaulibarri @susankayequinn and the 2016 workshop I offered with Starhawk.

BrightFlame · Bright Green Futures ⋆ BrightFlameImagining bright green futures is the first step in getting there. In this post I share the future I desire and inspirations for my stories.

Been thinking about #water quite a bit, and just saw a post by @tagesschau (I think 😅) so I felt like sharing some of that.

We use reusable water bottles quite a bit around here. For us and the kids. There’s usually quite bit left in them when they need some cleaning. I usually use that to water the plants around the apartment. And a lot of times, there’s more water than the plants need. So it gets tossed.

I thought about getting a rainbarrel to collect that water…

Continued thread

Because when it gets warmer, we’ll surely use a lot more water for the garden. But a rainbarrel isn’t cheap. Given the price of water, it probably won’t make much sense. Especially since we don’t really have much other ways to collect water. No access to rain water pipes (what would they be called correctly?). Also no way to collect more “wasted” water in our home without too much hassle. Or at least none that I’m aware of. I’m open for ideas though.

Replied in thread

Now does it still make “sense” to collect more water and e.g. get a rain barrel or something alike?

(Putting “sense” in quotes here because I feel like there are many different ways to interpret this.)

Would love some feedback or just your thoughts on this. Could probably go on, but it feels like a good summary for now.

The #UN University published their #InterconnectedRisks Report: It's a theory about how we can #change our world for sustainable living (and why it is possible): interconnectedrisks.org/

When I had the idea for my podcast about #ReconnectingWithNature, a lot of people laughed at it. Now I find this #mindshift again and even some #solarpunk ideas like #care, #humility, #sufficiency interconnectedrisks.org/2025/t Well, let's start to work on a better world, and fight this minority of destroyers! 1/2

Seeing how a lot of #solarpunk #illustration used by magazines, portals and even researchers tends to be #AI generated bullshit I'd like to start a gallery with curated, intentional and human-made #creativeCommons #art for anyone to use.

I'd also like it to be a place with #solarpunkPrompts available in multiple languages - as we have them in Polish, English and Italian - potentially cross-linked and tagged by themes.

Do you have any #ideas , #feedback for such a site?

Hey friends, just a reminder that we’re on YouTube - youtube.com/channel/UCsEdVsigL

You can listen to our episodes in video form, if you prefer to stream your podcasts on that platform. We also vlog and make shorts sporadically about our daily lives in Canada and Germany as solarpunks, paying attention to the details that we think solarpunks of different stripes might find interesting.
