The odds are stacked against the US (under Trump) ever selling Australia SSNs when the US Navy (and the Hawks in govt) are screeming for more subs to line up against the Chinese naval build up. There's only so many Virginia class boats built each year (one and half a year I think) and the US Navy has a number of them due for the scrapyard while still short of the numbers they say they need. </p><p>And yet again, Australia bungles up her subsurface capabilities procurement.
