K<p>Made the decision to <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/DeleteFacebook" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DeleteFacebook</span></a> and <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/DeleteInstagram" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>DeleteInstagram</span></a> accounts this year. Instagram already deleted, but Facebook might be a bit harder, since I've been on the platform for ages, and all my friends are there, and there's a lot of content that I've posted there. </p><p>The continued <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/enshittification" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>enshittification</span></a> of everything e.g. Meta removing <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/FactChecking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FactChecking</span></a> and <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/dei" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>dei</span></a> programs, was kind of the last straw. I've pretty much moved over to Mastodon, but currently only been a lurker. </p><p>This is my first post here, and I thought this was worth sharing. I'll still keep my FB account for a while, and keep posting information about the <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fediverse</span></a>, and where people could move if they want to keep in touch with me online.</p><p>I'm thinking of <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/friendica" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>friendica</span></a>, or <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/diaspora" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>diaspora</span></a>, but not sure of which to register to, any suggestions on that? </p><p>I've also been on <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/lemmy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>lemmy</span></a> for a couple of years, since the <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/RedditExodus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RedditExodus</span></a>. <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/pixelfed" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>pixelfed</span></a> is still not really there with the content, but I'm hoping people would move there from Instagram, once the total destruction of all the <a href="https://social.linux.pizza/tags/EvilCorps" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EvilCorps</span></a> platforms is complete.</p>
Florian Schmidt<p>Is there any replacement on the Fediverse for the r/Open_Science subreddit that feeds the <span class="h-card"><a href="https://fediscience.org/@OpenScienceFeed" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>OpenScienceFeed</span></a></span> bot?<br>There's none on <a href="https://sub.rehab/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">sub.rehab/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> yet, but I'm not sure how long it will outlast further <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/RedditAPI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RedditAPI</span></a> enclosure.<br><a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/AskFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AskFedi</span></a> <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/RedditExodus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RedditExodus</span></a></p>
Adam Dalliance<p>Last day of the Reddit 3rd party apps still working.</p><p>This seems to be the best list of where all the subreddits have relocated to.</p><p><a href="https://sub.rehab/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">sub.rehab/</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p><a href="https://boing.world/tags/reddit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>reddit</span></a> <a href="https://boing.world/tags/redditexodus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>redditexodus</span></a> <a href="https://boing.world/tags/redditmigration" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>redditmigration</span></a></p>
Wuzzy<p>Many people have been talking about deleting their <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/Reddit" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Reddit</span></a> account and posts because they hate what the Reddit CEO does.</p><p>While I welcome a major <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/RedditExodus" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RedditExodus</span></a> (I never posted on Reddit because it's <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/proprietary" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>proprietary</span></a>), I urge people to <a href="https://cyberplace.social/tags/backup" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>backup</span></a> their high-quality posts (those that have helped a large number of people) before they delete their account for good.</p><p>And then repost your high-quality stuff somewhere else for archival purposes.</p><p>Just a suggestion.</p>
