Held at North and Hambrough Primary Schools during the 2024/25 academic year, the clubs have supported around 80 students through hands-on activities in design, 3D printing, coding, and robotics. Mentors include an inventor, a PhD student, and university undergraduates. Funded by GWR’s Customer and Community Improvement Fund, the initiative addresses the UK’s STEM skills gap and promotes educational equity. Mentor Ahmed Hadhoud said the project is igniting lifelong passions and helping students consider careers in technology and engineering. GWR’s Emma Morris highlighted the programme’s lasting impact, shaping future innovators and contributing to communities through education.
https://news.gwr.com/news/inspiring-the-nations-engineering-innovators-of-the-future-thanks-to-gbp-26-000-grant-from-great-western-railway
