Michael Connor Buchan<p>Honestly, the open standards internet is still there, beneath the surface. 😁 I've got my user generated content here on the <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/fediverse" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>fediverse</span></a>, my spoken word content in <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/Castamatic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Castamatic</span></a> powered by open <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/RSS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>RSS</span></a> feeds and <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/Podcasting20" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Podcasting20</span></a>, I read my articles in <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://micro.blog/activitypub/NetNewsWire" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>NetNewsWire</span></a></span>, again from regular ole RSS, and I can chat on <a href="https://linuxrocks.online/tags/IRC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>IRC</span></a> or <span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://mastodon.matrix.org/@matrix" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>matrix</span></a></span>. It may not be the mainstream any more unfortunately, but it's still alive and going, protect it.</p>
