A question for people who use Gutermann Sew-All polyester thread!
Gutermann make a recycled (rPET) version of this thread, and although I like the idea of this in principle (and have bought a lot of it since they brought it out), I’m finding that the quality is not always as good as the non-recycled version.
The rPET Sew-All seems much more likely to be brittle — breaking while in the sewing machine, and melting at a lower iron temperature during pressing. Every “bad” spool of Sew-All I’ve had has been the rPET version. (And this isn’t because I mainly use rPET and hence have sampling bias. I use both recycled and non-recycled Sew-All depending on where I buy it from.)
I’d be very interested to hear others’ experiences of this thread (boosts welcome).
