A film that shows that the oppressed are a threat to power as they unite and break down the prejudices maintained by power to divide them.
Pride is a 2014 historical comedy-drama film written by Stephen Beresford and directed by Matthew Warchus. Based on a true story, it depicts a group of lesbian and gay activists who raised money to help families affected by the British miners' strike in 1984,[3] at the outset of what would become the Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners campaign.
Trans Day of Visibility: These are extremely difficult times. Those of us who went through the anti-gay panics of the 1970s and 1980s should have some taste of what our trans and enby siblings are contending with today.
Let us all use today to commit to standing with them and against this reactionary tide. Even little efforts can make the environment around you more welcoming, like adding icons and trans flags to your profile and speaking up in public about what you stand for.
Take the time to read about pro-trans efforts in your area and look for opportunities to lend a hand. There are organizers everywhere, and often what they need most is solidarity and help.
There is no LGB without T. Period.

The Public Universal Friend was a Christian preacher in the late 1700s and part of the “First Great Awakening” religious movement in the United States.
After surviving a fever, the Friend, a former Quaker, began identifying as both male and female, and amassed a following throughout New England and the Mid-Atlantic regions of the US. They preached sexual abstinence, the abolition of slavery and gender equality, and convinced several slave owners to free their slaves.

“The Matrix” has been one of the most impactful films of my lifetime, and was created by two #transgender women, Lana and Lily Wachowski.
In multiple interviews they have stated that the movie is intended to be a #trans allegory, with the red and blue pills representing the choice to transition versus the choice to go into denial, with the subway scene referencing Lana’s own brush with suicide and so on
Here is an interview where Lily talks about #thematrix as a trans allegory in her own words.
For #transdayofvisibility today I have called on and continue to call on trans people everywhere to reclaim the idea of the red pill, which has been appropriated from us, by sharing our history to the #redpill hashtag.
Led the red pill again represent the idea of choosing authenticity and self discovery in the face of fear.
Let us defy erasure by telling our stories.
