Qui per esempio l'altra sera ci avevo messo giusto un filo di un olio di lusso aromatizzo all'aglio e al peperoncino che ho ricevuto a Natale, e poi cavolo nero spadellato alla buona. Scott<p>Here's the polenta with sausages, milk, and tomatoes, first unstirred in the rice cooker and then mixed in on a plate. </p><p>I should mention that the rice cooker I used for this is a little bit unusual in how it works. Scott<p>So here's my new polenta method. I've made it twice now, and even my wife likes it (she disliked all my previous attempts).</p><p>First off, I used milk, and that really takes it to the next level. So, ¡gracias! to whoever gave me that tip.</p><p>I put polenta, salt, and milk into my rice cooker's pot. I diced two medium tomatoes for one serving and threw them in, but perhaps one tomato would have been enough. I cut two sausages into quarters and threw them in, too, added black pepper, and set it to cook (about an hour or so).</p><p>(Perhaps you science-y people already know what's going to happen.)</p><p>I should point out that the rice cooker I used is different from most. But, if you're using an Asian electronic rice cooker, I suspect you would want to use the porridge setting.</p><p>The acid in the tomatoes reacted with the milk and the high temperature and basically made a farmer's cheese. The result is I added a cheese flavor without adding one shred of cheese. So think of this as poor man's polenta.
