TomKrajci 🇺🇦 🏳️‍🌈 🏳️‍⚧️<p>Comet C/2023 A3 (Tsuchinshan-ATLAS) on 28 Oct, as seen from the Sacramento mountains of southern New Mexico. (Elevation 9,440 feet.)</p><p>First image is a stack of 90 30-second images.</p><p>The comet still sits in the rich star clouds of Ophiuchus.</p><p>The left side of the image is a network of dark dust clouds that obscure the Milky Way stars. There are subtle colors in these dust clouds.</p><p>There is also a weird blue-green star in this image....</p><p>Second image is a closeup of the upper right quadrant of the first image.</p><p>I've circled the blue-green star with red dots to highlight it.</p><p>It's a planetary nebula NGC 6572</p><p>Compared to most stars, it's color stands out and even in a dense star field it was easy to pick out.</p><p><a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_6572" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NGC_6572</span><span class="invisible"></span></a> </p><p><a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/NewMexico" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NewMexico</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Comet" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Comet</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Astronomy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Astronomy</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Astrophotography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Astrophotography</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/Photography" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Photography</span></a> <a href="https://universeodon.com/tags/PlanetaryNebula" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PlanetaryNebula</span></a></p>
