Some more Wollaton Park galls for @fowp a short 🧵

On Bracken :

* Little Black Puddings Dasineura pteridis (=filicina), swollen rolled and blackened pinnule (from previous years)
* Chirosia grossicauda, curled up end of pinna
* Aceria preridis : curled up and abnormally hairy ends of pinna (first time I've ever seen it)

Bonus pot Beetle Cryptocephalus sp. too

A small (3 mm) beetle, predominantly yellow and yellowish-orange scrambles over a green Bracken frond.
The end of a pinna (part of a Bracken frond) tightly curled over and partly browned. A gall caused by the fly Chirosia grossicauda.
The end pinna of a Bracken frond changed into a hairy mass. The gall is caused by a mite Aceria pteridis. Probably relatively uncommon.
The gall known as Little Blabk Puddings on Bracken. This is a top view so the likeness is not do apparent. Two pinnules (smallest repeating part of a Bracken frond) are tightly rolled by a small midge larva of Dasineura pteridis. From below the pinnules are blackened and thickened.
