PaulIt's time for another <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/MusicMonday?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MusicMonday</a>, and this time we are changing genre a bit — even if the music remains atmospheric and dreamy. This week I would like to recommend Carbon Based Lifeforms, in particular their 2006 album World of Sleepers. Carbon Based Lifeforms create meticulously thought-through electronic music, which probably fits best under the label psychedelic ambient if we need to find a label for it. I like how this music is not soulless or straight boring as a lot of ambient can be, but at the same time not too intense to be in the background. It is like a painting that fits well enough in the room to not immediately draw intention, but at the same time is interesting and touching when you look at it.<br> I like several of their albums, but I think World of Sleepers is a great place to start to explore Carbon Based Lifeforms. I also think it is one of their more beat-forward releases, which I personally like. Also, I am a sucker for the cover art. <br> <br> Carbon Based Lifeforms — World of Sleepers (2006)<br> <a href="https://carbonbasedlifeforms.bandcamp.com/album/world-of-sleepers" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://carbonbasedlifeforms.bandcamp.com/album/world-of-sleepers</a><br> <a href="https://www.carbonbasedlifeforms.net/" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">https://www.carbonbasedlifeforms.net/</a><br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/Music?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#Music</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/MusicRecommendation?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#MusicRecommendation</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/CarbonBasedLifeforms?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#CarbonBasedLifeforms</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/ambient?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ambient</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/downtempo?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#downtempo</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/psychedelic?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#psychedelic</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/psybient?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#psybient</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/chillout?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#chillout</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/chillgressive?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#chillgressive</a> <a href="https://pixelfedsweden.se/discover/tags/ElectronicMusic?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#ElectronicMusic</a>
mgorny-nyan (he) :autism:🙀🚂🐧<p>Haven't done any in a while, so: today's <a href="https://social.treehouse.systems/tags/MusicRecommendation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicRecommendation</span></a> is the Sons of Arrakis bind. Monika<p>I recently moved to a new music streaming service, and I didn't quite feel like migrating my old playlists. So now I am looking for your <a href="https://mastodon.acc.sunet.se/tags/MusicRecommendation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicRecommendation</span></a> ! What did you listen to and like recently? I am looking for something that fits one or all of these:<br>- makes me feel something<br>- the artist really had an idea here<br>- the artist clearly had fun with this<br>Can be almost any genre really. If it feels too polished I probably won't like it.<br><a href="https://mastodon.acc.sunet.se/tags/AskFedi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AskFedi</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.acc.sunet.se/tags/music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>music</span></a></p>
jessica<p>Hello!!</p><p>I'm looking for some specific music recommendations please!</p><p>I've recently stumbled across YouTube music channels in jazz-like genres sort of adjacent to LoFi, such as:</p><p><a href="https://youtube.com/@nohurrydontworry" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtube.com/@nohurrydontworry</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br><a href="https://youtube.com/@jij-bgm" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtube.com/@jij-bgm</span><span class="invisible"></span></a><br><a href="https://youtube.com/@phantasiarecords" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" translate="no" target="_blank"><span class="invisible">https://</span><span class="">youtube.com/@phantasiarecords</span><span class="invisible"></span></a></p><p>However, these are AI generated 🙁</p><p>I would love to listen to similar music by actual musical artists, preferably on BandCamp so I can get FLACs, but I don't know where to start. Searching for "LoFi" brings up music with more hip-hop beats, and "jazz" gives me music with vocals and is more traditional. I like this more background music fusion sound.</p><p>Thank you for any names you send my way!!</p><p><a href="https://beige.party/tags/Music" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Music</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/MusicRecommendation" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MusicRecommendation</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/Jazz" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Jazz</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/LoFi" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LoFi</span></a> <a href="https://beige.party/tags/BandCamp" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BandCamp</span></a></p>

And this is a kind of funny song and a bit of an earworm.
