davecykl<p><span class="h-card" translate="no"><a href="https://urbanists.social/@enobacon" class="u-url mention" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">@<span>enobacon</span></a></span> Good point! But the other aspect of the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/municipal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>municipal</span></a> bus company having <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/GPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>GPS</span></a> tracking of buses is that Control can see when this sort of thing happens, and can radio the drivers to transfer pax from one bus at a suitable point and then turn the other one back to try to restore normal service. To their credit, <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LothianBuses" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LothianBuses</span></a> are normally pretty good at this. 👍</p>
davecykl<p>For the first time in my life, I have encountered the “You wait ages for a bus and then two come at once” scenario…</p><p>(Actually, very little waiting, the <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/TfE" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>TfE</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/Edinburgh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Edinburgh</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/LothianBuses" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LothianBuses</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BusTracker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BusTracker</span></a> app means you can leave to get to the stop just before the right time. ☺️</p><p>But two buses on the same (less frequent) service route right behind each other? Something didn’t quite work out right somewhere!)</p>
Nudeln Al Dente<p>Has anyone else noticed that the new bus stop displays for <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/LothianBuses" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>LothianBuses</span></a> in <a href="https://mstdn.social/tags/Edinburgh" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Edinburgh</span></a> have a tendency to "lose" the next bus (or 2) a few minutes before it's due to arrive? I've noticed it at a few stops across the city since the new displays were installed. I'm sure the old ones never had this issue.</p>
