the magnificent rhys<p>I deployed Llama3.1 (8b-Instruct 16fp) running on my 7900XTX recently and it's fantastically useful.</p><p>It is a little less refined than commercial offerings, but for practical tasks it seems pretty much as capable.</p><p>I'm going to give it some time, but I do have two old 8GB GPUs around here somewhere. Kommt nahe an Jan.ai heran. Habe das Update mal zusammen mit <a href="https://colearn.social/tags/Llama3" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Llama3</span></a> Instruct installiert und werde das morgen mal ausgiebig mit und ohne RAG testen (erst morgen, weil ich mein Mac M1 zu Hause gelassen habe und auf einer i5-Gurke macht das wenig Spaß 😂).</p>

Id say its closer to a compiled binary as its not like anyone can easily understand and change those parameters to make it do what they want it to do. On the otherhand models can be built upon even as a black box. But its not like real open source.
