Had fun today trying to connect to my NAS with various working converted Linux Mint systems here.
Fortunately, I remembered how *nix terminal commands work and was able to prove to myself that it actually was not there. 
Discovered the problem is that I have TWO LANs and it was on the wrong one… somehow.
Tomorrow’s job. Hard wire it into the correct (mesh!) network.
It ain't a LAN Party until someone has to run to the store for a replacement part.
That someone was me.

Dank Eurer Hinweise habe ich mir jetzt einen sehr einfachen Switch besorgt - scheint seine Sache gut zu machen. Statische IPs mussten halt zugewiesen werden.
Vielleicht fummle ich noch ein wenig, um die Übertragungsrate noch zu erhöhen, aber bin damit zufrieden. Im Screenshot: Samba-Übertragung von Win-PC zu Raspberry Pi.

My IT career was in desktop hardware and operating systems, so setting up my 2 Omada WAPs and networks has been a hair-pulling affair.
Can someone point me to a SIMPLE guide to setting up a home network, a local-only IoT network, and a guest network across two WAPs with an Omada gateway? I think I’m getting screwed up with VLANs and PVIDs and ports (Oh, my!), but every guide I’ve seen is over the top with info.

SSIDWeb uses WiFi network names (SSIDs) to share small pieces of information within a local area. It's a decentralized way to signal your interests, offers, or requests without needing internet or social platforms.
How It Works
1. Encode Information in the WiFi Name (SSID):
Use a 3character code to describe your group, the type of interaction, and preferences.
Add a handle or alias for followup communication (e.g., `@Alice`).

So I might be involved in planning a small LAN Party. It's been far too long. Can't do an overnight anymore. What are today's LAN Party peeps doing?
Been using #NextDNS now for over six months and hands down this is worth every single penny of the subscription! I have a #Synology WAP/ firewall/ router connected to #Starlink (in #bypass mode) and have the NextDNS daemon installed on the router. Since the router is the DHCP server and authoritative #DNS server for my #LAN, it ensures all of my DNS #traffic and NS lookups are encrypted and handled by NextDNS.
And, NextDNS has DNS-level web content filtering, so I have all #ads, #tracking, and other "#annoyances" filtered out as well.
The result? A very fast, and very pleasant web experience whether I'm on my phone, my laptop, or my PC.
Seriously. Can't recommend NextDNS enough!

Our internal network has grown and now we want internal DNS resolution for local network stuff. It's a combo of bare metal and docker services, mostly from one host but not limited to it.
I really, really don't want to touch BIND again so I'm in a bind (badum-tss) and looking for suggestions. Any Linux based / containerised options for DNS on LAN?

Demnächst kommt ein Glasfaseranschluss. Kann ich über das Netzwerkkabel parallel zum LAN auch die Fritzbox mit dem Glasfasermodem verbinden?
Jeg har alltid trodd at studielånet skal være så veldig billig, jeg. At det lønner seg liksom ikke å betale ned. Men jeg sjekket lanekassen her omdagen og oppdaget at renta er på 5,233 %! Det er jo godt over det jeg får i banken! Mye mindre enn jeg får fra fondene mine er det jo, men jeg tør liksom ikke sette alt i fond heller. Så da får jeg lyst til å betale ned studielånet fra banken, men jeg bør vel egentlig bare kjøpe mer fond for samme sum isteden…? Ugh

Посидев несколько дней без работающих сервисов домашнего сервера я понял насколько я к ним привык.
Как-то неудобненько без нейросеточек, медиасервера, файловой шары и прочего.
И главное что доступные в онлайне сервисы вроде кинопоисков или ChatGPT не могут нормально это всё заместить. Стриминги - потому что они фрагментированы даже на западе, а у нас еще и проблемы с лицензиями на контент.
А ChatGPT я многое в принципе не готов кормить.
Короче говоря, одновременно почувствовал и свою зависимость от сервера, и то, насколько мне полезен мой селфхост.
