Cheng Soon Ong<p>I also want to shout out to the anonymous <a href="https://masto.ai/tags/ICLR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ICLR</span></a> reviewer who really engaged with the process, and interacted constructively with us over the 2 week rebuttal period. Our presentation improved significantly due to this interaction. Firstly we clearly distinguished the new problem we wanted to solve from how we solved it. And our literature review now places active generation in contrast other problems of adaptive experimental design. Finally they pointed us to the Bayesian optimsation benchmark.</p>
Benjamin Han<p>6/</p><p>For datasets, they collected papers and reviews from <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/ICLR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ICLR</span></a> 2018-2024, <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/NeurIPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NeurIPS</span></a> 2017-2023, <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/CoRL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CoRL</span></a> 2021-2023, and <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/EMNLP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EMNLP</span></a> 2023.</p><p><a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/research" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>research</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/ethics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ethics</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/chatGPT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>chatGPT</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/NLP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NLP</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/NLProc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NLProc</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/papers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>papers</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AI</span></a></p>
Benjamin Han<p>3/</p><p>1. The goal is to estimate what % (“alpha”) of the *reviews* are significantly modified by AI (i.e., not just minor edits to correct grammatical errors). They discovered out of AI conferences <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/CoRL" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CoRL</span></a>, <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/ICLR" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ICLR</span></a>, <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/EMNLP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>EMNLP</span></a>, <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/NeurIPS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NeurIPS</span></a>, and <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/NaturePortfolio" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NaturePortfolio</span></a>, *all* but the last exhibit sharp increases in alphas after the launch of ChatGPT (Nov 2022). In particular 10.6% of ICLR 2024 and 16.9% of EMNLP 2024 reviews are substantially modified by AI.</p><p><a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/research" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>research</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/ethics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ethics</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/chatGPT" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>chatGPT</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/NLP" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NLP</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/NLProc" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>NLProc</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/papers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>papers</span></a> <a href="https://sigmoid.social/tags/AI" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>AI</span></a></p>
