Your Autistic Life FR/EN/ES<p>I'm back on my laptop.</p><p>"Back?"</p><p>Yes, last Friday, just before my date came over, my laptop experienced a hardware failure.</p><p>I tried to figure out what happened on Friday, to no avail. I had to set my work aside to take care of my date.</p><p>Yesterday, I used my desktop to access Mastodon, Discord, etc. I continued looking for what had happened, but that was also futile.</p><p>After an upgrade on Friday, my laptop was not rebooting normally. I eventually was able to get to the BIOS screen, but the computer clock was off. The Windows installation looked fine, but I never actually used it. The Linux partition looked zapped... I'm not sure what happened there. Did the BIOS try to perform a recovery maneuver and zap it?</p><p>I recovered my data from a backup. The SDD hasn't given more problems. I'm tempted to chalk it up to cosmic rays hitting the BIOS.</p><p><a href="https://mast.yourautisticlife.com/tags/backups" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>backups</span></a> <a href="https://mast.yourautisticlife.com/tags/HardwareCrash" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HardwareCrash</span></a> <a href="https://mast.yourautisticlife.com/tags/BIOS" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>BIOS</span></a> <a href="https://mast.yourautisticlife.com/tags/CosmicRays" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CosmicRays</span></a></p>
