Sydney Smallgoods stuff, yay!! I was in the fancy convenience store at the train station waiting for my child to come home, and a Muslim woman asked the person behind the register if the sandwich she was holding had pork in it. The person didn’t understand the question, so I offered to check. It did indeed have pork in it, so I asked if I could help them find food without any pork. A surprising number of the things on the refrigerated shelf didn’t fit the bill. “So much pork,” I said, and she laughed. Finally we found enough pork-free items for them, and they thanked me and we parted ways.☺️ Then I thought, “Darn! Dendan Setia (Nins)impulse purchased this vegan rendang at the plant-based food fair i went to a month back, and seriously no complaints! seems like a small operations, and literally the only thing they sell is this mushroom rendang and a kind of lemang. It's basically MRE-style but incredibly luxurious - the paste, the taste, the choice of mushrooms... absolutely on-point. It’s fucking barbaric how these animals are killed. If folks really cared, but still wanted to eat meat (like I do), they’d demand that ALL (non-pork) meat be either <a href="https://paktodon.asia/tags/halal" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#halal</a> or <a href="https://paktodon.asia/tags/kosher" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#kosher</a> slaughter. It’s about as humane as it can get.
