1. He survived, but his <a href="https://hear-me.social/tags/druids" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>druids</span></a> faced the difficult question of whether this change made him a blemished king and therefore unfit to reign. Through some loophole of interpretation, they determined that having one’s head on backward was not a blemish, but to keep Fergus from knowing what had happened, they covered all the mirrors in Emain Macha, the great royal residence of Ulster. And so Fergus lived happily enough for seven years, until a woman he had mistreated revealed the truth. Fergus returned to Loch Rudraige and killed the muirdris, but fell dead of exhaustion afterward, his head still facing backward.`<br>Source: P. 1. Neu-Kelte 🌻💙💛🌻<p><a href="https://hear-me.social/tags/MythologyMonday" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>MythologyMonday</span></a>: „All the coastal <a href="https://hear-me.social/tags/Celtic" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Celtic</span></a> lands had their own versions of the mermaid. In Cornwall the mermaid cloaks an ancient sea-goddess, pictured holding a mirror, possibly influenced by classical interpretations of the seaborne Aphrodite, Greek goddess of lust and love. The Mermaid of Zennor is Cornwall’s most famous manifestation; in a small coastal village in Penwith, a girl emerged from the ocean to lure the best singer from the church’s choir, Matthew Trenwalla, down to the depths to share her home and her love. Her image can still be seen in the town’s church.“<br>Source: P. Emma LH: Ghost Catcher Isles<p>Yesterday, I followed the magical procession of Bristol 'Jack in the Green'; a beautiful May Day tradition celebrating the return of summer. Dressed in leaves and flowers, Jack is paraded through the streets of the city by attendants, dancers and musicians, reviving a custom that dates back to the 18th century. Originally part of the chimney sweeps' May Day festivities, Jack symbolises fertility, growth, and the power of nature. Such a vibrant, joyful way to welcome the green of the summer season. E. MagnussonA new headdress that I made during a course recently. It’s inspired by a traditional Swedish folk crown, called a Lad. Mine is not very traditional, other than it being traditional to make it as shiny as possible on a wool base.<br> <br> I was inspired by the myth of Argos Panoptes, the giant who have his eyes to the peacock feathers in Greek mythology. You look at my hat, my hat looks right back. <br> <br> To be honest this was an amazingly fun stash bust and I got to try out mirror sewing and beading in ways I hadn’t before. 10/10 will be doing another one. <br> <br> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/crafts?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#crafts</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/folklore?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#folklore</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/sewing?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#sewing</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/embroidery?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#embroidery</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/slöjd?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#slöjd</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/folkdräkt?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#folkdräkt</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/hemslöjd?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#hemslöjd</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/husflid?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#husflid</a> <a href="https://pixelfed.social/discover/tags/broderi?src=hash" class="u-url hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#broderi</a>
