The US society is based on the consumption of bucket loads of gadgets, trinkets and non essentials. Good luck with your I-phone after five years of no supply or rare earths. But I guess you'll keep drilling baby drilling and sufficate. No more windmills or clean energy. [It will take up to 5 years to find, build and exploit your own rare earths mines.
