Never thought of Garfield as a strip about depression, but that scans. I would have thought Cathy is more like that, but it doesn't lend itself to ironically eldritch horror.</p><p>There is also something the video seems to miss. Jon is never alone. Girlfriends, restaurants, and jobs may go, but Garfield never does. I hate that last fan art panel where he defeats Garfield.
