I like the idea of the fairphone. I also own a fairphone 4. but honestly the service sucks. When talking on the phone people don't understand me because the sound is muffled and there is a lot of echo.
This is a know issue since FP 3. Also the brand new FP5 has it. So basically a lot of users have a phone that does not work as a telephone and the only thing the customer support offers is "please reset to factory defaults".

and today slipped into a pond for several seconds while I was feeding ducks 
. When they say they want you to have that phone forever, it's no joke, I think this phone will outlive me... Though it's probably time for a new screen, case and battery

K2 accidentally smashed the glass of the #fairphone4 camera. Ordered a replacement part a few days ago, it arrived yesterday.
Today, K1 did most of the replacement work (I preferred fiddling with the connectors myself). Now she wants to learn about how computers work.

Well, I snagged the #Fairphone4 so by the weekend we may find out if I brick the thing, which would be a major backfire. I installed /e/OS on Samsungs multiple times over the years (albeit via their "easy installer") so fingers crossed I can pull this off without an issue! #CalyxOS #Fairphone #DeGoogle #eOS
Anyone installed/used #CalyxOS on a #Fairphone? I'm tempted to try it out but want to avoid a high risk of bricking it if I get one on a #Fairphone4 deal I found, and also don't want to lose too many capabilities from my current Samsung S9 with #eOS on it, so am interested to know how well it runs.

@stfn The #Fairphone4 is the only Fairphone model that runs on the charger with the battery removed (however, it won't power on without the battery) FP1, FP2, FP3 and FP5 do not. /u

Et voilà, mon #FairPhone4 est passé sur Android 14 grâce à e/OS/ 
Je ne regrette pas un seul instant d'avoir 'investi' dans ce smartphone il y a plus de 3 ans à présent.
Il est passé de Android 12 à Android 14 avec toutes les mises à jour cumulatives entre et tout cela, sans AUCUN compte Google 
Ce système e/OS/ est clairement un pré-requis si vous souhaitez vous dégafamiser ou au moins se dégoogliser.
