Driving my daughter's ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) Subaru was ... different. Besides the fact that it is way noisier and slower in acceleration, the hardest thing to get used to was the lack of engine braking! Let off the accelerator, and it just keeps going! I sorely missed my regen braking on my #EV6. I have turned it to Auto Max. It isn't quite one-pedal driving (i-Drive in #Kia), but it is close. And that whole business about turning off the engine at stoplights!

Gorgeous weather #today so despite a compressed schedule, I still should take the #dogs for #walkies. I bought new sneakers, so I need to get them broken in. As a friend called them, these white #Nike Air Monarchs are the "daddest dad shoes that ever dadded" 😹 I'm hoping they make enough progress on the deck that we can use the back slider once again. I should take the #EV6 for a car wash and maybe grab a quick burger for lunch. Then it's time for #BaldursGate 1.

I did not go to hockey this morning, because my wife needed the car. It is the annual summer company outing, which has had her completely stressed. Given my abysmal performance last week, I think I could use the time off in any case. I have been watching YouTube videos on my #EV regen. The #EV6 has "auto" regen, which is what I usually use but I didn't realize even that has different settings. I'll have to play with it a bit.

#Today will be more errands. A is taking her gecko to the vet's (what???), so I have to drop it off with her. I need to take the #EV6 to the car wash. The plug for the cars at home is underneath a magnolia tree and it is a truly messy tree in the spring. The white flowers are nice for about a day, then they start raining down and get onto everything. And don't get me started on the birds! So the car is a real mess.

@miffyhelen @jda
All depends on where you live and your driving patterns. We don't drive many miles per week and don't travel by car beyond the distance a full charge at home will take us, so we don't worry at all. Longer trips would require planning where/when to charge along the way, but there are good apps for that. "A Better Route Planner" has an excellent reputation and incorporates the specifics of your exact car as well as terrain and weather for your trip.

I should go plug in the #EV6. Winter sucks for #EV mileage but I still am in love with my Kia! It has the most amazing handling and acceleration - easiest the best I have ever driven, even better than my late lamented Mitsubishi #Starion (way too much car for 27-year-old me). It is so great to fill'er up at home. And we just got our Mass rebate check for it, so that makes it even better.
