🦇 Domo<p>So I've been thinking about an ambitious project to go through the past 3 years of Democracy Now headlines and pull out every single headline about Palestine or Israel, and make it into one long clip. I think it would shed a lot of light on October 7th and the events afterwards, but also, crucially, the events that happened <u>before</u> October 7th, both for war and peace. If I'm feeling really ambitious, it might be working doing the past 10 years. Democracy Now has always had fairly good coverage of Israel's ethnic cleansing projects, and Amy Goodman is respected across the journalism world, quite literally around the world. She's broadcast on PBS, she's watched by officials in government, and she's quoted in the bilingual Arabic/English speaking world regularly too (for instance you will notice she often gets quoted in Aljazeera podcasts).</p><p>So, the next question is, what's the best way to do this? I know Democracy Now makes available full transcripts of all of their videos on their website, but I also don't want to DDOS the website by taking 3-10 years of transcript data for parsing all at once. After parsing which transcripts mention Palestine the headlines, I'd need to start gathering all the matching videos, which is also intensive.</p><p>Do you think the Democracy Now team would respond well asking directly for the transcripts alone? It's so much data, but I think putting all the video evidence of the ethnic cleansing into one multi-hour video and putting it on peertube would be really really educational, especially for people not familiar with leftist side of all the events.
