This month, I (soft) launched the redesigned https://candide.media website, and (officially) launched the "Frugal Filmmaking: Video Editing on a Budget" course!
The hybrid course (happening both in-person and virtually) teaches participants how to edit video using @kdenlive, where to find #CreativeCommons assets, how to add effects, and more.
The workshop aims to strike the right balance between teaching how #kdenlive works, #videoediting techniques, and thinking critically about video.
Here's a little untitled paper #collage I made, licensed under CC BY-NC-SA 4.0
Received a heartwarming email this week from someone who found my old #band’s song “You’re On Fire” on the @creativecommons compilation “Copy Me Remix Me”.
He loved the song then, but could never find out anything else about us as The Phoenix Trap disbanded in 2004. But he recently came across #music suggestions via Spotify, YouTube, and SoundClick and now is a fan of the entire album we put out back in 2002.
All this is to show that releasing #art and other “content” via #CreativeCommons can touch people’s lives in extraordinary and unexpected ways.
A tip of the hat for your generosity and talent. A big grin.
I was recently impressed and moved by David Revoy's Darwin on another post, and today I discover he has released it and many more into the Creative Commons.
Thank you.
Releasing 25 vintage digital paintings I made before 2012 as Creative Commons Attribution (with high-res files).

I've given WotC a lot of shit and side eyes lately, but at least SRD 5.2 for the 2024 rules is going to be released under the Creative Commons (CC-BY-4.0).

In an attempt to meet some new and interesting people (and to avoid any talk of The Deranged Oompa-Loompa in the Alabaster Castle) I have followed a few hashtags. Maybe y'all can help me refine them a little. Thes hashtags are: #hiking #emacs #creativecommons #ccmusic #woodworking #webdeveloper #freeculture

RADIO IRRTUM! (on air from Berlin)
↓↓↓ Deutsch Version below unten ↓↓↓
Da next issue of #RadioIrrtum! will arrive this Saturday, 2025/04/12, 8:00pm UTC+2/Berlin time. At Alex Berlin FM at 91MHz or DAB+ K7D around #Berlin and worldwide at https://www.alex-berlin.de/radio-livestream .
#Radio Irrtum! is a German language #radioShow exploring the sonic vastness of the #underground. Emitted transmissions may raise attention for new unheard #music all over this planets genre spectrum. Don't worry about the German language aspect - it's all about the #music!
This time there is even pure flute music inside, just take a look at the genres we'll cover:
- shape shifting, dreamy, and experimental #PopMusic
- brand-new authentic 90's #DnB
- club smashing #Bass
- Distorted #Tekkno
- #experimental stuff
- (like the mentioned #flute music which doesn't have to be "comfortable", just because it's made using a single flute… just sayin')
- #Punk for gardeners
- #shoegaze #grunge
There is #CreativeCommons licensed music in it, and of course there are #FediArtists featured, like @wroong@s.basspistol.org (well — ok, this time just him, as far as I am aware).
Anyway: If at least a bit interested in kewl new unusual #music, tune in!
I'll post playlist + manuscript later here (provided I’m home, else it will come up the day after). And if you have questions? I'll gladly answer! Just ask!
CU all on Saturday! :)
↑↑↑ English version above, the Deutsche welche jetzt ↓↓↓

Was steht drin? WIr haben einen Blick hineingeworfen. Das Buch gibt es im #OpenAccess sowie als Printfassung:

I'm working on an original translation of the Bible. My goal is to let the words of scripture guide my translation rather than reading a favored theology into the text. As the saying goes, "Where the Bible speaks, we speak, where it is silent, we are silent." In addition to being a formal equivalence, I try to preserve original idioms (with clarification in the footnotes), poetic and metaphorical language, and distinct synonyms (ie. land/ground/dust) where possible.
The text is available under a Creative Commons license. And it is available at a website, and as an ebook, though it is still incomplete.

Seeing how a lot of #solarpunk #illustration used by magazines, portals and even researchers tends to be #AI generated bullshit I'd like to start a gallery with curated, intentional and human-made #creativeCommons #art for anyone to use.
I'd also like it to be a place with #solarpunkPrompts available in multiple languages - as we have them in Polish, English and Italian - potentially cross-linked and tagged by themes.
