Inclined to argue, this is not an election won by Labor/Albanese.
… it’s an election lost by Liberal-Nationals/Dutton & Co.

Hopefully Albanese doesn’t misunderstand this as a ‘mandate’ to be reckless and be negligent in #ClimateAction #HousingCrisis

CNN · Five takeaways from Australia’s general election after Anthony Albanese secures second termBy Lex Harvey

"In #AGoodWar #SethKlein argues problem one is we massively underspend on climate. We're not nearly reaching the level of importance & urgency that it is. Spend what it takes to win. Secondly we need to create new institutions like crown corporations that are empowered to do what it takes."

@lionelb @thenorfolkcoast “A freedom of information request submitted by the BBC found there are just 18 members of staff working fully on climate adaptation at the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs (Defra).

That's just 0.3% of Defra's nearly 6,600 full-time-equivalent core staff.

Defra said some of these employees also worked on climate adaptation part-time, and the figures don't include those working in other parts of government.”

That’s woeful.

It's more like KILL IT WHILE YOU'RE AHEAD kind of nonsense. You don't have to be a climate-groupy to understand this is nuts. Going back to a time with way more expensive [and back to polluting] energy !

If you’re against the use of AI for environmental reasons, I have a question for you:

From the estimates I’ve found, one text prompt generates about 4.32 grams of CO₂e.

On the other hand, a single serving of steak (100g) is responsible for 4.27 kg CO₂e.

By my math, you would have to send about 988 prompts to equal the carbon emissions of one steak. (For reference, one 100g serving of tofu is 0.0982 kg CO₂e.)

My genuine question to anyone who cares about the environment: if you haven’t already, what’s holding you back from making the switch to plant-based eating?
